In 1843, based Rex Anders Olof Meden and Dr. Carl Jacob Wettergren Nittsjö Brickworks in Karlsvik outside Rättvik and the foreman appointed Johan Jansson. 1847 also expanding operations with manufacturing of stoves and utensils in terracotta. In November 1882 cover R.A.O. Meden bankrupt. In the bankruptcy estate includes Utby and Charles's estates and 1/5 part of Nittsjö Brickworks. Everything sold at public auction, and a total of 36,555 kr gets Major JS Nisser owner of the property. Major J.S. Nisser owns Kopparberg & Hofors sawmilling company and from November 1882 owned brickworks by Martin Nisser, JS Nisser and C.J. Hedman. 1887 is the time for the next change of ownership. Now sold the brickyard to the owner of Säters Earthenware Factory Olof Wallström and under his leadership goes brickworks a flourishing period to meet. He also builds a sawmill in Korsnäs, Backa Ångsåg, which is also incorporated into the company. But when the company goes best is the accident occurs.
The night of Sunday, November 10, 1895 a fire broke out in Nittsjö brickworks. It was a large two-storey wooden building containing a furnace and workshops. When the guard left the building at. 23:00 on Saturday night, all was quiet, but an hour later when a few people passed the factory, they saw that a fire had broken out in the main building. They alerted the plant's staff and fighting to get a head start. Unfortunately, the fire had already taken such a hold on the building that any rescue attempt was futile. They still managed to save the attached magazine where everything finished pottery was stored, and the large drying barn. In June 1902 selling Wallström both Brickworks and Ångsåg to engineer C. Godfrey Rystedt in Stockholm for SEK 60,000. The Board then Captain P. Linderdahl, LLM LE Gezelius, Captain A. Lund Berg and deputies Engineer Knut Åkerblom and Auditor G. Ihrman. Rystedt continuing operation of both Ångsåg and Brickworks until 1909 when the company leased to Forsell & Sörling.

In October 1917 selling Kullberg brickworks to Ruben Löfgren and now becomes Nittsjö Brickworks instead Nittsjö stoneware factory. Ruben proves to be an energetic master, and under his direction the company is growing, both in production and modernity. The number of employees increased, the factory was equipped with modern machinery and new electrical furnaces. Production consisted then mainly of flower pots, jam containers and other household goods.
1924 begins a young boy from Rättvik, Erik Mornils, that in his spare time to paint and decorate flower pots at the factory and in the first year could Mornils to decorate about 40,000 flowerpots with 10 cents. Ruben estimated Mornils proficient and in 1925 he was hired as a decorator at the factory, a job that would be in 40 years. Although Mornils hired as a decorator, he designed also molds and models drejarna Karl Johan Forsell designed, later also PJ Wahlund. All these new models also gave the company reason to participate in exhibitions. The first took place at the Craft and Industry in Falun in 1927, with the result that the company was awarded with the diploma and a bronze medal.
The year after participating Nittsjö at the Sundsvall Exhibition and here they were awarded a diploma and a silver medal for their ornaments. At the Stockholm Exhibition of 1930, it was Erik Mornils lucky to get a diploma and recognition.
Spring 1933 was hired the next great artist at the company. It was Jerk Werkmäster inter alia worked for a short period of Gabriel Burmeister in Vittinge in the 1920s. Werkmäster Nittsjös became the first artistic director and stayed in the company until 1968. His 30-year anniversary of the company was celebrated with an exhibition at the New Museum in Falun 1963. The jerk was busy not only with ceramics. He has painted altarpieces, decorated and furnished Hospital, parish hall and hotel. He redecorating also one of the lounges on the America Line ships "Kungsholm" with intarsiaarbeten.
With artists Erik Mornils and Jerk Werkmäster associated with the company increased demand for Nittsjö Ceramics significantly. The factory was modernized and more electric furnaces were installed, together with the large three-story brick oven to produce goods in sufficient quantity.
