Gunnar Andersson

Sven Gunnar Andersson, ceramist born May 27, 1927, practicing first with Sune G. Svensson Nyhamnslaege before he was employed as Turner at Andersson & Johansson (Höganäs Ceramics) in Höganäs. In the 1950s, starting Gunnar own pottery workshop in Nyhamnsläge "Gunnar's Ceramics", where he made bowls, vases, candlesticks, apples, bird whistles and thumbnails of stoneware. He also ran training courses in pottery for many years.

 

In the mid-1990s, ending Gunnar with ceramics and around 2000 he moved to Sävsjö. Gunnar objects are signed "Gunnar Andersson" or simply "GA". The items from Höganäs Keramik even with the factory stamp.

 

In 1955 started Gunnar Andersson and Allan Möllerström DECO its Settlement AB in Helsingborg. 1967 employed Pink Heather and her well-known design company gave a major boost. Rosa ends at Deco in 1973, but her subject was manufactured for a long time thereafter. 1974 starts Deco another factory in Torekov and in 1985 moved all production to the new factory. 1988 takes over Stefan Andersson and Conny Petersson company.

At Deco and Torekov made utility and decorative items including John Bauer Troll, horses, cats and pigeons etc. for design Pink Heather. They were also known for their dinnerware "Asymmetry".

At Torekov did the mechanical engineering for Höganäs Ceramics, but when Höganäs moved its manufacturing to Thailand, suffered Torekov of large financial troubles led to bankruptcy in 2008.
